Snowflake Files 8-K After CRO Drops Unapproved Guidance on the Street

Don't talk to strangers on the street...

During an impromptu on-the-street interview on October 26, 2025, Mike Gannon, Chief Revenue Officer of Snowflake, was approached by James Dumoulin, a TikToker associated with Instagram account “theschoolofhardknockz”.

While the company later identified the interviewee as a non-designated spokesperson, the video captured Gannon blurting out a figure of $4.5 billion for FY2026 revenue, a number that differed from the company’s official guidance of $4.4 billion.

In the Form 8-K filed the following day, Snowflake stated the officer was not an authorised spokesperson under its Corporate Disclosure Policy and advised that investors not rely on statements made during the interview. The company reaffirmed its revenue guidance for Q3 and full-year FY 2026, originally issued on August 27, 2025.

Although the $100 million gap between the $4.5 billion remark and the official $4.4 billion guidance is modest in a multibillion context, the episode goes on to show that public‐company disclosures must be precise and channeled through authorized spokespeople. Even informal rounding or “off-mic” commentary can trigger governance questions, confusion among investors and regulatory scrutiny.

So next time a TikToker approaches you on the street and you happen to be a the CRO of a public company, make sure to Forrest-Gump in the opposite direction…
