Good morning,

We’ve been working on something for a long time, and we’re excited to finally launch it: Wall Street 360 Jobs.

It’s the first Wall Street job board that shows you what people actually earn (base and bonus), how many hours they work and sleep, how many weekends they give up, and how they rate their physical and mental health, all before you apply.

The Problem with Every Finance Job Search

In this market, it feels like everyone I talk to is looking for their next job. That makes sense: you should absolutely be maximizing what someone pays for your talent. The problem is how little you actually know about a job before you accept it.

I've actually been there too. You're desperate to get out of your current job, you don't do enough diligence, and you end up somewhere worse. The grass is definitely not always greener.

Here's the diligence most people actually do today, and why it's not enough.

Comp. You probably have a decent sense of the base, but almost no visibility into the bonus. Firm websites sometimes post ranges, but they're usually so wide they're useless. LinkedIn has ranges too, but we all know better than to trust LinkedIn with anything recruiting-related. Bonuses also swing with market conditions year to year. So you end up asking around, and even then your data is limited to, and biased by, your friend group.

Culture. This is even worse. Say you get an interview with Goldman's FIG group. Your interviewers will tell you it's an amazing place to work, but they're the last people who'll tell you how bad it is, because they're trying to hire you to dump all their work on you lol. But okay, assuming you're a smart person, you'll probably end up checking Wall Street Oasis and asking anyone in your social circle if they have any insight on that firm. But no matter how connected you are, you can't really know a firm's culture until you join, and by then it may be too late.

And that's exactly the problem we set out to solve.

What Wall Street 360 Jobs Gives You

We launched Wall Street 360 in March of this year to bring transparency to comp and culture across Wall Street. In just a few months, our dataset has grown to ~6,000 verified submissions across 1,000+ firms.

We also became the first platform to quantify culture objectively. We track five metrics (mental health, physical health, hours worked, hours slept and weekends worked), compare them against a healthy baseline, and roll them into our proprietary Burnout Score.

Now we've matched all of that comp and culture data to live job openings.

I’ve wanted to build this for a long time, and our dataset is finally big enough to make it happen. We don’t edit or influence any of it. Every number comes straight from the people doing these jobs.

Filter across IB, PE and 7 other industries. Search by position, location, firm, total comp, date posted, and even burnout. (We'll add more industries soon, but these cover 90% of you. Want one we don't have yet? Email [email protected])

Every posting shows the full comp and culture picture. Let me give you an example: here’s a Morgan Stanley Investment Banking VP role in New York that’s currently open.

Before you apply, you can see average base ($275K), bonus ($285K) and total comp ($560K), alongside mental health (2.50/5), physical health (2.67/5), 65% of weekends worked, 80 hours a week, 6.3 hours of sleep a night, and a Burnout Score of 52/100.

See exactly where the numbers come from. Click "Show submissions" to see every submission for that role, broken down by year, level and group. Job postings rarely give you the level (e.g., VP 1, 2 or 3), so the averages cover all levels. But if you're targeting VP 1 roles, for example, you can see exactly what VP 1s at that firm reported.

And of course, you can do the same with culture.

Compare the firm with the industry. We also added toggles for comparing the firm with the industry. You can get a real sense of how much Morgan Stanley folks are getting paid compared to other banks, and decide if this is a role worth applying to or whether another firm is a better fit.

There are also similar toggles for cities. Say you're looking at a Goldman VP job in Salt Lake City, and you want to see what people in New York and other cities are making and what their life is like. All you need to do is click on the “Global” toggle.

See our Morgan Stanley example below, where we select the “Industry” and “Global” toggles. Now you can see all VPs across all firms, globally. Pretty cool, right?

Reviews. Within each posting, you can also read reviews from the people doing the jobs.

Job Alerts

When I was job hunting, I had to check every bank's careers site, every single day. To be honest, it was quite annoying, and missing a posting by even a day could mean missing it entirely.

Our job alerts fix that. Pick the industries, positions and firms you care about, and get matching roles in a daily email or a weekly Monday roundup.

Saved Jobs

We've also added saved jobs, in case you're browsing at your actual job. You can go home and apply in peace. It's a similar idea to saving housing listings on StreetEasy.

Free for Everyone, Starting Today

Until now, Wall Street 360 access required contributing data or paying. Starting today, the job board is completely free. Just create an account and choose the free option.

If you want our full comp and culture dataset, including PE carry data, you can still unlock it by contributing your own data (each contribution gets you 12 months of free access) or by subscribing. (Students who want detailed access without contributing can email us at [email protected] and we'll set you up with a discount)

A Few More Updates

Filter comp by year. You can now filter by year on the main Comp tab. Our data actually goes back to 2022, so you can see year-on-year trends too.

As a reminder, you can also see all this data by firm. Just go to the “Firms” tab and click on the firm you'd like to see.

Browse all live comp and culture submissions, filterable by industry, position and location.

Final Thoughts

A job board of this quality has not existed before, and I’ve worked really hard to bring my vision to life. I would’ve killed for something like this back in the day, and I’m really proud of what my team and I have built here.

We’re launching with postings from 22 top IB and PE firms. We wanted to get these right first, and we’ll be adding more soon. If you’d like to post a job or have any feedback, just reply to this email or reach us at [email protected].

Best,
